Так же, как и в классе переднефрикционных катушек, инженеры Shimano осуществили модернизацию Exage RB в 2009 году. Это непросто косметическое обновление. Новая модель имеет двойную ручку, внутренний механизм изготовлен из цинка высокого давления, дуга лесоукладчика типа CAP, основная шпуля SA CF.
